Comprehensive Wound Care Center
Our Comprehensive Wound Care Center treats non-healing wounds for patients age 18 and older. Our interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary support personnel, work together to treat these difficult wounds using the most current methods. We work with your primary physician on developing your plan of care and keep him/her apprised of your progress.
Some types of wounds treated in the center include;
- Ulcers found on your feet that can result from poor circulation, diabetes, or neurological conditions
- Non-healing wounds that can develop after surgery
- Wounds that develop as a result of infection
- Wounds or “ulcers” that develop over various parts of the body from prolonged immobility or pressure, usually over a bone
Treatment
The course of treatment depends on the number and types of wounds that have developed. If you have multiple wounds, each separate wound may require different treatment. The specific type and number of treatments rendered is based on a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of your medical history and wound status. With proper treatment, healing rates can be as high as 85%.
Treatment can include:
- Minor surgical or chemical debridement
- Antibiotic therapy
- Vascular or radiological testing
- Diabetic counseling
- Recommendations for protective foot wear
- Referrals to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Insurance Coverage
Medicare and many health plans cover the cost of wound care. We will request any required authorization from your health plan prior to your first visit.
