Ladies and Gentlemen:

It is with great pleasure and pride that the Board of Directors of Tri-City Regional Medical Center officially informs you that we have unanimously voted to appoint Clifford B. Shiepe as the Hospital’s President and CEO.   We are confident that he will help lead the Hospital into a new future of elevated performance, as we serve the patients in our care and the communities who look to us as their hospital.

Many of you have come to know Cliff while he served the Hospital very capably — first as Chairman of the Board, then as Senior Vice President and for the last several months as Acting CEO.  We would like to be sure that you know what we knew – some of the things that impressed us – as we made this appointment.

We chose Cliff Shiepe because he is a proven leader with integrity and commitment to those he serves.  He has a broad background, a vast experience and significant accomplishments that have made him the impressive executive he is today. Cliff is a veteran with over 30 years of high-level experience in hospital management and administration. He earned both an engineering degree and an MBA. He began his hospital career with ten years at the renowned Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he served as an Assistant Administrator.  Thereafter, Cliff served at some of the most noted hospitals and medical organizations in the country, including as Senior Vice President of the Lutheran Hospital Society, at Stanford University Hospital, USC University Hospital and the Scripps Clinics, among others.

As we announce Cliff’s appointment to the staff, let me take the opportunity to thank you for your work, service and dedication.  We know that to have a hospital exemplify excellence, it takes skilled people who care and teams who act with common values and deep dedication. The Board is committed to a work environment that enables those qualities and a work place that will foster that new future of elevated excellence which we seek. We ask you to join us in congratulating Cliff and we ask you to work with him, to support him and to join him in creating and fulfilling our new future.
